My cheeks are getting chilly, my hands are a tad cold, and my hair is blowing in all directions. It's fall! For me, fall is the perfect season to be outdoors. In this blog post, I'll share my favorite outdoor moments in autumn, simply because it can be so cozy outside!
moreJoin the rhythm of the trees
I love consciously experiencing the seasons. Autumn represents change, but also letting go. The changing colors of the trees, the final shedding of all the leaves. The animals preparing for winter and birds migrating to warmer climes. Sounds familiar, of course, but do you really "experience" it?
There's so much to see and experience when you're out walking. Do you see the geese migrating? Do you see that tree from your window changing color a little more each day? Have you stopped to consider the wonder of the mushrooms you can see everywhere these days?
You can find me in the woods a few times a week, walking slowly and consciously enjoying everything around me. Even though I have little energy, this gives me energy!
Autumn is still here, but it's fleeting. So enjoy it while it lasts, but for real!

A last campfire
Autumn is slowly drawing us indoors, but with a little effort, it can still be wonderful to be outside. A thick sweater on, a last campfire, and a hot cup of tea in hand. Or how about that one moment when the sun is shining? It's customary to curl up on the couch, but what if you put on your coat and sip your tea in the sunshine?
I always think: winter will keep us indoors long enough. So whenever possible, I consciously try to create moments where I'm still outside and experience the seasons even more consciously!

So...what do you choose?
Exactly, you have a choice! I often forget it myself because of the hustle and bustle and the rhythm of the day. But I do have a choice. I can choose to go outside, I can choose to stare out the window a little longer at that one tree changing color. Even though it's incredibly busy right now (for me) with my shop, I choose not to let autumn pass by in a blur. I go into the woods alone at least once a week (with my dog Bram, of course), I enjoy lovely autumnal moments indoors (check out this blog post), and I look around me more consciously. Because autumn is truly beautiful. Change, letting go, it's all good; I find it a nice reminder.
So, what do you do?
