zomercosiness

Do you know that feeling? Your body relaxes, you feel safe, at ease, and content? Yes? Good! Because that's the true cozy feeling. And the best part: it's seasonal! So read on for 5 wonderfully cozy tips that can help you achieve this feeling.

Be outside!

You can experience nature in the most wonderful ways, especially in summer! How about a walk on the beach, your feet in the surf? Or enjoying breakfast with a picnic blanket and a good book in a clearing in the woods? One that my husband especially enjoys (I'm not a big fan of water, haha) is boating! There's plenty to think of and do, as long as you don't feel like you have to and allow yourself to take things slowly, you can fully enjoy cozy outdoor activities!

Fruit cosiness

You could easily develop a new term like that: "fruit coziness." Sounds good, right?! Summer is fruit season, with strawberries (from your own garden or not), raspberries, plums, cherries, and much more available in abundance. A wonderfully cozy moment for me is treating myself to a bowl of strawberries while reading a book by the French doors. Cozy, right?!

Baking bread

I think this is one of the coziest activities for days with nice weather: baking rolls over a campfire! I'd never done it until two years ago, and since then, I've wanted to do it every summer. I can't say my rolls are the tastiest, but there's something so cozy about them that I accept it. It's about the moment, the slowness, the waiting, the togetherness. That's coziness!

Even nothing

As you may already know, I don't handle heat well due to my illness. Summer has become a time for me to relax and take it easy. This has made me realize that's true for many people: you don't always have to be productive or have seen everything on vacation. You can just be. Relax, play a game, enjoy a nice cold glass of lemonade, stroll around, read a bit, or simply daydream in the grass. It's guaranteed to make you feel cozy!

Retreat

Maybe you're more of a yin type, like me, or even highly sensitive. Or maybe you just recognize it without all the labels, but I love to retreat to myself sometimes, especially in the summer. It's busy outside, everyone's outdoors a lot, so all the more reason to close the curtains every now and then and switch off from the (often) faster pace of summer energy. Nothing wrong with that! I always thought it was a bit odd, but it's one of my ways to recharge, so why not be completely okay with it?! Just create your own cozy moment to recharge—wonderful!
