Cozy summer story
Imagine opening the door to a cozy cottage. Perfectly yours! You step inside and the scent of freshly baked cake fills the air. The patio doors are open, and the chickens are happily scratching in the grass. You take a deep breath; the atmosphere is cozy, just the way you like it. You find stacks of books, your favorite subjects! The kitchen shelves are filled with storage jars. A large bowl of strawberries sits on the table, and tea is kept warm on a tea light. Time to relax! But is this really your story?

All these terms are thrown at you, but they mean nothing more than living in a way that suits you. A way that suits you, away from the daily grind and influences. Slower, more mindful, time for yourself, slowing down, and so on. I sometimes find all these terms quite intimidating. Sound familiar?
I sometimes feel like I have to "get it right," that I have to fit into a certain trend. I recently read somewhere that people who live "cottagecore" don't like bright colors, but mainly white, neutral, and gray. I find that incredibly limiting! Just because the (so-called) perfect pictures on Instagram are all white, light, and "neutral," doesn't say anything about the heart of the matter!
It's all about what suits YOU. I find the world utterly boring without color (so I can't wait to paint our living room in the fall). Maybe you like cozy and cottagecore, but you're not into baking or cooking at all. That's perfectly fine!
