Sometimes it's necessary to say goodbye. Saying goodbye is essential for growth. I'm in such a phase right now. Since I outsourced my package-packing work, there's been room for growth. Creative growth. And I love it! But somehow, that also involves saying goodbye. Especially to...
moreOld products and illustrations I no longer like. I clean out my folders on my laptop, go through the shop again, and decide to run a sale on all the art prints I want to let go of. And yet, saying goodbye is also difficult, because sometimes I let go of a real "bestseller."
Charting your own course
I firmly believe that staying true to yourself is a good idea, not only in everyday life, but also as a creative entrepreneur. People are quick to say, "Do what feels right," but it's not that simple! The reality is that whenever I decide to discontinue or sell products, I ALWAYS (it seems like a curse) receive an email from customers who just wanted that one card or print to hang on their wall for a special occasion. Try saying no or "staying true to your heart" in those situations.
Give it time
For me, it just takes time, and at some point, I can let go and say goodbye. Regardless of what others think or the emails I get from clients or stores. One thing's for sure: over the past three years of being an entrepreneur, I've really had to learn to say NO, and honestly, it feels great!
And forward!
Saying goodbye feels a bit like dwelling on the past. It's very much my style to focus on the future. So, I'm already working on a new Advent calendar, writing a book, and fully indulging my creative curiosity. Wonderful!
Sale so
Haha, you can sense it coming already, right? There's a sale (50% off) on some art prints, and no, they're definitely not coming back ;-)
