Sometimes it is necessary to say goodbye. To say goodbye in order to grow again. I am in such a phase right now. Since I have outsourced my "package wrapping" work, space for growth is opening up. Creative growth. And I love it! But somehow that includes saying goodbye. Especially from...

old products and illustrations that I no longer like. I clean out my folders on the laptop, go through the shop again, decide to have a sale on all the art prints I want to let go of myself. And yet that parting is also hard, because sometimes I let go of a real "best seller".

Setting your own course

I firmly believe that staying close to yourself is a good idea, not only in everyday life, but also as a creative entrepreneur. 'Do what feels right' people are quick to shout, but it's not that simple! The reality is that when I decide to remove products from the assortment or sell them out, I ALWAYS (it's like a curse) get an email from customers who wanted to hang just that one card or print on the wall for a special occasion. Try saying no or 'sticking to your own feelings' then!

Give it time

For me, it just takes some time and at some point I can let go and say goodbye. Regardless of what others think of it or the emails I get from customers or stores. One thing is for sure, over the past 3 years of being an entrepreneur I've also had to really learn to say NO and honestly: I like it just fine!

And forward we go!

Saying goodbye is, to my mind, being preoccupied with the past. It suits me very well to be busy with the future. I am working on a new Advent calendar, writing a book and indulging my creative curiosity. Wonderful!

So a sale...

Haha, you can feel it coming by now right? There is a sale (50% off) on some art prints and no they are really not coming back 😉
