Cosiness is associated with autumn, cold, Christmas, candles and blankets. But there is also such a thing as summer cosiness! In this blog, 5 lovely cosy, cosy summer tips!
You know that feeling? Your body relaxes, you feel safe, at ease and content? Yes? Good! Because that's the real cosy feeling. And the nice thing is: it's season-independent! So read on quickly for 5 lovely cosy tips that can ensure this feeling.
Being outside!
You can experience nature in the most fun ways, especially in summer! How about walking on the beach, with your feet in the surf. Or having breakfast with a picnic blanket and a good book in a clearing in the woods? One that my husband in particular really enjoys (I don't like water much, haha) is boating! Plenty to think of and do, as long as you don't make it a 'have to' and can do everything nice and 'slow' by yourself, you can totally indulge in cosy outdoor activities!
Fruit cosiness
You might just develop a new term like this, 'fruit cosiness', sounds good right! Summer is fruit time, strawberries (homegrown or not), raspberries, plums, cherries and much more are available in abundance. A lovely cosy moment for me is treating myself to a bowl of strawberries while reading a book in front of the French doors. Cosy right!
Bread baking
I think this is one of the most cosy activities for the days with nice weather: baking sandwiches over a campfire! So I had never done that until 2 years ago and I've wanted to do it every summer ever since. I can't say my sandwiches are the tastiest, but there's something so cosy about it that I take that at face value. It's about the moment, the slow, the waiting, the togetherness. That's cosiness!
Just nothing
As you may already know, due to my illness, I cannot stand heat very well. Summer has therefore become a time for me to not ask too much of myself for a while. So I found out through this that this is true for many people, you don't always have to be productive or have seen everything on holiday. You can also just 'be'. Relax, play a game, have a nice glass of cold lemonade, take a stroll around, do some reading or just muse in the grass. That's guaranteed to make you feel cosy!
Withdraw
Maybe, like me, you are more of a 'yin' type or also highly sensitive. Or maybe you just recognise it without all the labels, but I love to retreat sometimes, especially in summer. It's busy outside, everyone is outside a lot, so all the more reason to draw the curtains every now and then and not participate in the (often) faster pace of the summer energy. Nothing wrong with that! I always thought it was a bit crazy, but it is one of my ways of recharging, so why not find it totally fine! Just create your own cosy moment to recharge, lovely!
